Which character did Pedro Infante play?

Pepe el Toro, a humble carpenter who becomes a boxer, is the beloved character Pedro Infante played in Ismael Rodríguez’s film trilogy ‘Nosotros los pobres’ (1948), ‘Ustedes los ricos’ (1948) and ‘Pepe el Toro’ (1953). Infante (1917–1957), an actor and singer, was one of the greatest idols of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema.

He died in a plane crash in 1957 and remains hugely popular. Don’t confuse him with Jorge Negrete, the other great singing charro of the era.
