Roberto Gómez Bolaños
Roberto Gómez Bolaños (1929–2014), better known by his stage name ‘Chespirito’, was a Mexican writer, actor, and comedian. He created and played El Chavo del Ocho, the orphan boy of the vecindad whose show, first broadcast in the early 1970s, became one of the most watched comedies in the history of Latin American television.
Don’t confuse him with his co-stars: Ramón Valdés played Don Ramón, Carlos Villagrán played Quico, and Rubén Aguirre played Profesor Jirafales.
