Guillermo del Toro
Guillermo del Toro (born 1964 in Guadalajara) is a master of fantasy and monster cinema, known for Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water, and the stop-motion Pinocchio. The Shape of Water earned him the 2018 Golden Globe for Best Director and went on to win the Oscars for Best Director and Best Picture that same year.
He is one of the ‘Three Amigos’ of Mexican cinema, alongside Alfonso Cuarón and Alejandro González Iñárritu, each of whom has also won directing Oscars.
