Alejandro González Iñárritu

Alejandro González Iñárritu (born 1963 in Mexico City) rose to fame with Amores perros (2000) and won back-to-back Best Director Oscars for Birdman (2014) and The Revenant (2015); Birdman also won Best Picture. He is one of the ‘Three Amigos’ of Mexican cinema, alongside Alfonso Cuarón and Guillermo del Toro.

Don’t mix up the pairs of films: Iñárritu won for Birdman and The Revenant, while Cuarón won his directing Oscars for Gravity and Roma.
