Guillermo González Camarena

Guillermo González Camarena (1917–1965) was a Mexican engineer from Guadalajara who invented an early color television system. He patented his trichromatic field sequential system in 1940, when he was only 23 years old, and years later his technology was used in real broadcasts.

He did not invent television itself, which already existed in black and white; his contribution was making the image appear in color. That is why he is remembered as one of Mexico’s most celebrated inventors.
