Tepic

Tepic is the capital and largest city of Nayarit, a state on Mexico’s Pacific coast. The state is the homeland of the Wixárika (Huichol) and Cora peoples, famous for their colorful beadwork and yarn art.

Nayarit’s coast, the Riviera Nayarit, has grown into a major beach destination, but its resort towns are not the capital — the capital is inland Tepic.
