Santiago de Querétaro
Santiago de Querétaro, commonly called simply Querétaro, is the capital of the state of Querétaro in central Mexico, and its colonial historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The city holds a special place in national history: the conspiracy that launched the Independence movement was plotted there in 1810, Emperor Maximilian was executed on its Cerro de las Campanas in 1867, and the Constitution of 1917 was signed there.
