Saltillo
Saltillo, founded in 1577, is one of the oldest cities in northern Mexico and the capital of Coahuila. It is traditionally famous for its woven sarapes and today is a major center of the automotive industry.
Don’t confuse it with Torreón, the heart of the Comarca Lagunera and the state’s largest metropolitan area, which is not the capital. Nearby Monterrey is the capital of Nuevo León, a different state.
