Ciudad Victoria

Ciudad Victoria has been the capital of Tamaulipas, a northeastern state on the border with the United States, since 1825. It is named in honor of Guadalupe Victoria, the first president of Mexico.

Don’t confuse the capital with the state’s larger or better-known cities, such as the port of Tampico or the border cities of Reynosa, Matamoros and Nuevo Laredo.
