Aguascalientes (Aguascalientes)

Aguascalientes is one of several Mexican states whose capital city bears the same name as the state. The name means “hot waters,” after the region’s thermal springs.

The city is famous for the Feria Nacional de San Marcos, held every spring and considered Mexico’s biggest fair, and it has a long railroad and textile tradition.
