What was Frida Kahlo's full name?
Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) is Mexico’s most famous painter, known above all for her intense, symbol-laden self-portraits. She was born and died in the Casa Azul in Coyoacán, Mexico City, which is now the Frida Kahlo Museum.
Her surnames come from her parents: her father, the photographer Guillermo Kahlo, was of German origin, and her mother, Matilde Calderón, was from Oaxaca. She was married to the muralist Diego Rivera.
