Germán Cueto

Germán Cueto (1893–1975) was a Mexican sculptor known for his experimental masks and abstract works, and a pioneer of modern sculpture in Mexico. He was linked to Estridentismo, the Mexican avant-garde movement of the 1920s that brought together poets and artists inspired by machines, cities, and modern life.

Unlike the muralists of his era, who dominated painting, Cueto explored new materials and forms in three dimensions.
