Oaxaca de Juárez is the capital of Oaxaca, set in a mountain-ringed valley in southern Mexico. It is celebrated for Indigenous cultures, cuisine, crafts, and a well-preserved historic center.

Verde Antequera combines the city’s former colonial name, Antequera, with the green quarry stone used in many historic buildings. The stone gives parts of the center a distinctive greenish tone.
